Landscapes: Observe, Imagine, and Paint! with Melanie Stanley

Drop-ins are welcome! Please contact Melanie Stanley for more information. More classes will be available from Melanie starting in January.

6 Week Course (Mondays 5 to 8pm)
Instructor: Melanie Z Stanley, Professional Artist with an Art Degree and Experience!
Mixed Media and/or Your Choice of Water Based Paints

Autumn is a great time to get back into your art after a busy summer! Landscapes are not only fun to paint; they offer such a wide variety of techniques, color palettes, and compositions.
Build your skills while learning to sketch and paint both representative and abstract landscapes using a variety of drawing and painting strategies that will strengthen your artistic voice.

We will work together to learn more about planning a composition with sketching and bringing in the light. Then we will explore color mixing, intuitive painting, working with brushes and palette knives, and more as we create beautiful, juicy landscapes that give us the opportunity to discover how perspective, color, texture, and imagination helps us as artists to “see” the world around us.

The instructor will provide many demonstrations, personal and group guidance and support, feedback, and plenty of room to explore and discover the artistic path you wish to take. Come see yourself as a painter with the ability to unleash personal creativity through learned, knowledge and practiced application.

This class is great for both beginners and those who are experienced because in these classes, we learn and explore together, working from our current ability and skill levels.
More important; come have fun with a lively group of artists who work hard, play hard, and support one another in every class as they tackle new art adventures!
