There's No Place Like Home
March 14, 2017
March 14 - April 8
An Exhibit by members of the Great Falls Studios
ON Exhibit March 14 to April 8, 2017
Reception on Sunday, March 19, 3-5pm
Herndon and Great Falls are both small towns that attract artists to live and create their art. When you ask them to look into their hearts and create a piece that evokes “home” to them, what is the result? Is it a building, a person, a childhood hidey-hole where they went to dream of the future, the aroma of Mom’s apple pie cooking, or a pair of ruby slippers? Come visit this juried exhibit by members of Great Falls Studios, and see if you can find home. Winners will be announced at the Exhibit Reception with prizes awarded by the judges.

About Great Falls Studios
Established in 2003, Great Falls Studios (GFS) is a consortium of more than 100 independent artists who live and work in Great Falls, Virginia. It is a diverse group of painters, potters, photographers, jewelry makers, fiber artists, sculptors and others representing a wide variety of media. Membership is open to artists working in their studios in Great Falls, as well as non-artist ‘friends’ who wish to join the artists in promoting a growing arts movement in the community.
The organization aids the artistic endeavors of the artists through a network of continuous communication among members with meetings, nurturing the artistic growth of ‘young’ artists, as well as the very popular monthly themed Virtual Gallery on its website. GFS arranges monthly solo exhibits and several annual group exhibitions at the library and elsewhere in town and beyond, ArtFest sales at The Grange, and their signature Annual Studio Tour in October, all enabling others to experience art in the Great Falls Community.
GFS supports other community organizations, charities, the Friends of the Great Falls Library and art education in local schools (by displaying student work). Additionally they allocate a portion of sales to promote art for all ages in Great Falls.
