The purpose of The Young Artist Scholarship program is to support visual or performing arts education for Herndon students aged 13-21. High School students wishing to pursue the arts outside of their formal education institutions are encouraged to apply. Students must have been active in community service and prepared to perform more if accepted. The scholarship can be used for summer camps as well as continuing education during the school year. College students can use the money to supplement college tuition when studying the arts or for summer studies. Scholarships can be used for visual as well as performing arts subjects but must also be accompanied by community service in the Herndon community.
